Deep in the night

Staring outside the window at a non lit street, I realize how beautiful the darkness really is. My first thought is to look at the sky. The big beautiful sky that we all take for granted but refuse to appreciate unless there’s a power outage. All those stars twinkling as they've done for centuries, watching over us enjoying our lives unfold in front of them. The cool breeze welcomed during a summer night making the leaves on branches ruffle and make the dust drift from one place to another. The moonlight reflecting in the ripples of the lake, spreading a calm and soothing feeling in its surroundings. The sweet smells of the earth and air wafts in through the windows leaving a tingling in the nose. The stillness of everything non nature makes you realize how the earth has been kind to allow us to share it's resources. Visions of walking hand in hand with a lover is all that’s missing in such a beautiful night. The moonlight would have reflected softly off his hair and face leaving a silhouette to be admired. The night brings with it many mysteries. It could be a time for secrets to unravel, for the true identity of someone revealed. The times when fears are disclosed or the time when souls can bond. Silence, peace, serenity. Something missing from the hustle of everyday life. Curled up on a sofa, breathing in the aromas of nature and life, I feel one with myself and with my surroundings.
